About Karen Robertson
I'm Karen and I’m all about sharing things – experiences, stories and information – that help and inspire others.
It took me a while to realize that this is a big part of who I am, but when it comes down to it, “sharing to inspire” has been a theme throughout my life and is what makes my heart sing.
Professionally, I’ve done a number of things:
- I’ve been a marketing consultant for 25 years and counting!
- I invented a new book format and published an award-winning children’s book
- I’ve created two Top-10 children’s story book apps
- I’m the author of five books on creating and marketing children’s book apps, wrote a complete course on the topic and founded an industry organization
- I’ve delivered over 120 author talks and speeches
Now I’m sharing about living outside my comfort zone and doing things differently.
While I’m originally from Texas, I’ve lived in Australia for nearly 20 years. My husband and I have been married for 25 years and we have two amazing, teenaged sons who have taught me more about life than any book ever could.
Our lives took a big detour in 2012. We’d been living in Sydney for over 17 years when we uprooted our life to move to Austin, Texas so that my youngest could attend a specialist school for dyslexics. That decision had a huge impact on our lives and has led to the work I’m doing now.
We’re all back in Australia now and are creating our new life.
In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends, walking on the beach or in the bush, reading, being still, writing, speaking, exercising, eating out and indulging in dark chocolate. Brownies are my favorite!
Another favorite thing is beautiful water. That's why you'll see lots of beach photos in my blog posts and across my site.
And it's no surprise that my favorite colors are turquoise and aqua. You'll rarely catch me in another color!
The things I'm most grateful for are being, my family, love and awarness.
I look forward to connecting.
